Street Food Championships 

We proudly sponsored this year's Street Food Championships, which was held at Islington Metal Works in London on 4th October. 16 finalists cooked up a street food storm with their technical, Santa Maria challenge and signature dishes. These were then judged by a panel of experts to compete for the title of this years Street Food Dish of the Year, Santa Maria Challenge Winner, Street Food Chef of the Year and Bloggers' Choice Award. Santa Maria Challenge Winner 

A big congratulations goes to Paul Human from Signature Brew & The Collab London for winning the Santa Maria Challenge round. We loved the taste of his incredible ‘Wings for the Seoul’ dish – which used our fantastic Santa Maria Korean BBQ Sauce. 

In an interview with Dine Out & OOH Magazine. Paul said:  “I got the list of ingredients, and my expertise isn’t so much in South American food, but I do love Asian food and I saw the Santa Maria Korean barbeque sauce. Then, when I tasted it, it didn’t need anything doing to it, it was great. So, I literally put it on my standard chicken wing recipe, which is soaked in buttermilk overnight. Then I fried the wings once at a very low temperature, in a secret mix that I can’t share with you. Then I tossed the wings in the sauce, added the garnish and that was it. The sauce, though, was the hero.”

Winning Dish - 'Wings for the Seoul' 

Paul Human's winning dish for the Santa Maria round was this fantastic 'Wings for the Seoul' dish which was Buttermilk fried chicken wings marinaded in our Santa Maria Korean BBQ Sauce, lime juice, kewpie mayo, & sesame seeds. Salsa Maria Madness

Another recipe that caught our eye in the Santa Maria Challenge was this Salsa Maria Madness. Jamie Tack from Leytonstone Tavern created an amazing open taco using all 5 of our Santa Maria products in his dish. This recipe is inspired by Jamie Tack's dish. 'Nacho your average Nachos' 

Another dish we couldn't resist to mention was this recipe created by Gareth Attwell from Big Boys Fine Burger Co. Using our Santa Maria 12" Soft Grill Mark Tortillas, Gareth deep fried the Grill Mark Tortilla to make Tortilla Chips and served as a delicious dessert.
